Understanding something
This conversation developed a reusable educational framework to accompany Isabel's performance review by reframing it as an entrepreneurship lesson rather than a debate over compensation. Beginning with her ten-year goal of owning a restaurant, we organized the material into four business fundamentals: understanding the labor market through salary data; understanding how business economics determine sustainable compensation; recognizing that management is ultimately measured by its ability to create revenue growth rather than simply assume additional responsibilities; and understanding that every management decision carries operational and financial consequences that must be evaluated through the perspective of stewardship. The resulting document was intentionally written as a timeless business-school style lesson that can be reused to train future managers in entrepreneurial thinking.
