Constitution
Inquiry Overview
This inquiry seeks to articulate the constitutional foundation of Highland Lake Cove by defining the enduring purpose, principles, and social contract that govern the organization. Rather than creating another employee handbook or collection of policies, its purpose is to establish the timeless agreements that explain why the organization exists, the mutual commitments between stewardship and employment, the authority and responsibilities associated with different roles, and the values that should guide decisions long after the current leadership has changed. It is intended to become the highest governing document for the organization—a leadership constitution that provides the philosophical and ethical framework from which the Organizational Charter, department charters, performance standards, onboarding process, and operating procedures naturally flow, while preserving the mission for future generations and eventual stewardship through a Perpetual Purpose Trust.
