<p>John Steinbeck (his parents were both freemasons) and Joseph Campbell were both connected to CIA and Stanford. What about Ed Ricketts then? He was also connected to Stanford and an intregal part of the Monterey/Carmel bohemians. Just an idea for a future dig that no one I can see has yet explored. Maybe even take a dive into Steinbeck's writings? </p>
