The organization was formed by David Atlee Phillips in 1975 to "promote US Intelligence Agencies."

The Lancer Conference has given out many Mary Ferrell Awards. She gave the keynote address in 1997 to the Lancer Conference and was a force in the conference thereafter until a year before her death.

RODNEY STITCH WAS ON THE OSWALD CONFERENCE PANEL IN NEW ORLEANS, INVITED BY KRIS MILLEGAN. HE DIDN;T MENTION THAT HE WAS A MEMBER OF THIS ORGANIZATION.

I SAW MARY FERRELL DESTROY MANY INDEX CARD FILES BEFORE SHE TURNED THE REST OF THE INDEX CARD CILLECTION OVER TO THE FOUNDATION, AS WELL AS TWO LETTERS WRITTEN BY MARINA OSWALD THAT SHE SAID WERE 'TOO PERSONAL FOR THE PUBLIC.'

My name was also removed from all her records before the collection left her dwelling on Holland Ave. in Dallas. She apologized but said that otherwise her chronology would not be allowed to be sold at Lancer conferences until she did so..

I reported to others I trusted that I had observed this destruction of files about three weeks before Mary moved, became ill, and died of cancer.

I REMEMBER MARY FERRELL BEFORE SHE BECAME ILL, AND WHEN SHE AND HER COMPUTER CAME UNDER THE CONTROL OF OTHERS.

THE BELOW LONG QUOTE IS TAKEN FROM MY UNPUBLISHED BOOK: "MY LIFE AS A WITNESS" ...

"I am glad to have a final tape recording of my last visit with Mary, with my sister and my friend Debbee as witnesses. At that time she denied that she had sent an email from her computer denouncing me. We had a great visit that was falsely described by her friend Robert Chapman as an invasion that frightened her -- that my friends had abused her (he is now dead, but was Mary's longtime friend as well as close to the discredited John McAdams, who is often called a CIA asset). Not knowing I had taped the meeting ( Mary gave me permission..as you can hear on the tape....I later thought i turned it off, but it kept recording the last part of the conversation in my purse, when my sister was talking about her jewelry collection). Chapman did not know I was there, but reported that my friends had broken into" May's unlocked room and overwhelmed her. On the tape you can hear the nurse knocking on the LOCKED door and going in and asking Mary if she wanted to see us. The answer was YES.

So these lies are circulated about me, about my changing my story when i never did, etc. I thank God i have the tape and it has been heard by many people by now.

. Mary once frankly told me she was "a CIA asset" and said that many people were, [NOTE; but the list I present to you above has only 2, 619

names, which is a small percentage of all CIA-connected people. And Mary is on the list.

. The list holds the names of the most important "assets" and operatives known to a CIA officer who was an insider.]

Mary also told me she was a member of David Phillip's retired agents association, so if I ever saw her name on a list,. not to worry, she was "just an asset" like Clay Shaw. I know a lot more now and realize just how important a "CIA asset" can be. And yes, her name is there, too.

Mary kept a loaded gun under her pillow. She also had Mannlicher Carcano bullets and a Carcano just like the one 'found" in the Texas School Book Depository that was leaning in a corner, surrounded by stacks of books.

. Her home on Holland St. was so crammed to the brim with books--including of course the 26 volumes issued by the Warren Commission,--that only a small space on her kitchen counter and her stovetop was not littered with them. It was a true fire hazard. She had a building detached from her house in the back that was equally stacked to the brim with her huge collection. There is a popular picture of Mary in that building that is on the Z=internet. Buck, her husband, had it built for her.

In Mary' bedroom, to the left-hand side of the room, were about 200 boxes of shoes. I was very poor at the time as i'd had a lot stolen from me and also vandalized, including about 1,000 books ruined, and had lost my teaching career after speaking out..

She gave me an expensive dress and two pairs of designer shoes she had actually probably worn just once or twice. I wore the dress to a Sixty Minutes interview. She also once gave me a check for $100 to replace two of my tires that got slashed when i was parked outside her house. Somebody did not want me to see her, and in the end, I was cut off from seeing her. I scanned the check and a number of researchers have seen the scan.

Mary was fighting cancer, but also was trying to keep her independence from her daughter and other family and friends, who were slowly taking over her life.

They would end up succeeding in getting total control of her as she declined in health. The second-last year of her life, she was still trotted out to the Lancer Conference, I was told, where she was given honor and attention, but she was really just a shell of the woman I had known.

Mary gave a lot of help to many researchers, but she also had her limits in what she would give, compared to what she had. I saw how she handled the information she was collecting about me, and what happened to it.

She had collected a lot, and tried to include it in her famous chronology, at that time selling on floppy disks, but Lancer's Debra Conway refused to sell it until she removed all mention of my name from the chronology, even though every possible bit of information about anybody who made a claim about Lee was in that chronology.

But my name won't be found there, despite all the evidence that I was a close friend who gave her information that she wrote down.

But Conway does not like me and Conway was selling the disks, so Mary had to remove such items as "Judyth Vary Baker moves into 1032 Marengo, five days before Oswald moves nearby into 4709 (sic) Magazine St.' That had to go (and of course there were other entries, such as that Lee and I had been hired the same day at Reily at the same small company, that we had moved together one week later to the main company building, that my last day of work at Reily was Aug. 9, the same day Oswald was arrested, and so on, with a number of entries that were not allowed to be added to her chronology)..

The files got sanitized. She said it was also for my own good.

Mary was giving money from Lancer's sales of these floppy disks to the Poor Claire nuns at that time, so she erased the entries so, she told me, she could sell the disks again and give that income to the nuns). Whatever...

All of Mary's children had been raised Catholic, and she gave me their daily missals after I told her that mine had been stolen (my childhood Missal). She could be very kind. She also gave me some artwork her son had drawn & painted of cars, because nobody else in the family cared about them, but I thought they should be saved (she was packing to move).

Yet, I watched Mary destroy several files she felt the public should not get access to, just before they hauled off her huge collection into a big truck.

I am speaking out about this because these details need to be out in the open.

One of her sons had been murdered in a drug deal of some kind. Her other son, Jimmy, had a titanium jaw due to cancer. He worked at Campisis (researchers know that name is important regarding organized crime and Jack Ruby in Dallas), and was Marina Oswald's friend. She would eat there often, he said.

He offered to take me to meet her, but she was at that time at work at an Army-Navy type store and I did not want to disturb her. At that time I had been fired from my own teaching position because I had spoken out and it had become known. I could imagine what Marina had been going through from Day One and have always had compassion for her.

Mary Ferrell became too old to stay in her house and bought upscale a lovely assisted care two-bedroom apartment with a long patio and a separate computer room to the left of her bedroom and living-room.

. I helped by fixing her computer, which was offline for weeks. Mary's computer did not have a password the several times i worked on her computer to fix glitches. Her big problem was that the main part of the computer was stored in finely-built cabinetry to the left that had , however, no ventilation. It was always running hot. I had Mary got holes drilled to let air circulate, and half her computer problems got solved, just like that.

. Her son Jimmy moved in with her after i turned down her invitation to come live with her. I was easing a lot of her pain and helping her to lower her drug intake. She was taking too many anti-psychotics and painkillers.

She also rented an apartment overhead that was filled with duplicates of the books and many files that she sold to O. Curme for 1.3 million dollars. Se had me go up there to fetch some books down for her.

She told me how to get copies of the Foundation's tax files because she was upset when they tried to make her move her bank account to Boston (I came in to visit and she was crying: This was just before she moved from her house on Holland in Dallas). She wanted me to have the records so I could have some defense from David Lifton. She wanted me to see how much money she had given to Lifton (she granted Lifton a second loan at no interest from the Foundation so he could write a new book and stop being angry at me...he took the money but never wrote the book, which irritated her.) His prior book was canceled when i spoke out, after famed researcher Harold Weisberg met me in New York and realized Lifton's biography of Lee, co-written with Debra Conway, was full of errors about Lee's life in New Orleans. Weisberg and Lifton were dire enemies --i had no idea at the time--and this was Weisberg's chance to get Lifton's book canceled. He had enough influence to do just that. He had written the book CASE OPEN against Gerald Posner's CASE CLOSED, and at the time, it had sold well.

"I love him like a son," Mary said about Lifton, "but sometimes he makes me so mad! David will never forgive you, and neither will Conway." Mary did not like Debra. Mary's words turned out to be true. David Lifton and Debra Conway would not be finished with me even after Mary died.

Even so, there is always hope.

As I've said, Mary Ferrell kindly assisted many, but I also watched her destroy some files, as well as two letters from Marina Oswald, written to her when

Mary verbally told me many details about Marina, as Marina used to come and sit at her feet, hoping for information that would clear Lee's name. Mary wanted information from Marina, not the other way around, as Mary said she firmly believed that clearing lee's name was hopeless. I disagreed, and she told me I was risking my life and would get nowhere.

i told her how much I loved Lee, and this reached Mary somewhere deep inside.

The authors of the book OSWALD TALKED finally gave Marina enough hope that she could openly state that she no longer believed that Lee Oswald shot Kennedy.

Someday I hope we can stand together and tell the world exactly that, but there are people surrounding Marina who may never allow us to talk together in private. What I have been able to do, in that direction, has been done."
