Whilst researching my own background I was looking into my ex-partner's godfather Brian Inglis who I discovered knew Stephen Ward and had lunched with him* 3 days before he committed suicide after becoming the 'fall guy' in the Profumo Affair. Source

Inglis was accompanied at this meeting with Ward by his mutual close friend David Astor, then editor of the Observer newspaper whose family home was Cliveden House - he grew up there. Cliveden was a location central to the events leading to the Profumo Affair (political / honeytrap "scandal") (source) at that time it was occupied by the Astor family. William Astor 3rd Viscount.

During the 1963 Profumo Affair, trial, William Astor 3rd Viscount was famously accused of having an affair with Mandy Rice-Davies. In response to being told during one of the trials arising out of the scandal that Astor had denied having an affair with her, Rice-Davies famously replied "He would, wouldn't he?"

A close friend of George Orwell (wiki), David Astor had been analysed by both (Tavistock's) Anna Freud and R D Gillespie. Gillespie had co-authored with David Henderson, (here) who had taught Ewen Cameron at Gartnavel hospital.
