He developed Structured Visual Thinking, a collaborative and visual technique for creating strategies and plans that address the complex issues and opportunities facing business enterprises and society at large.

After studying fine arts at Cambridge University, he began his career in the field of emerging technology and computing, helping to launch the BBC Microcomputer that led to the formation of ARM, a chip development business that is now one of the UK's most successful businesses.</p>
