The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) intends to issue limited competition Requests for Application (RFA) to support the continuation of the clinical research sites (funded through RFA-AA-18-002, https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-AA-18-002.html) and Data Coordinating Center (DCC, funded through RFA-AA-18-004, https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-AA-18-004.html) for the Alcohol-associated Hepatitis Network (AlcHepNet). The purpose of AlcHepNet is to improve biomedical, psychosocial and quality of life outcomes for patients with advanced alcohol-associated liver disease.
The purpose of this FOA is to provide investigators working on the development of novel therapeutic products for HIV and HIV-associated co-infections (hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis) with a mechanism to request NIAID DAIDS preclinical services to fill gaps in their product development efforts and facilitate the advancement of promising therapeutics from bench to clinics.
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to promote epidemiologic research investigating novel and innovative hypotheses on emerging risk factors (biological, environmental, and social) and their interplay with established risk factors (e.g., viral hepatitis) associated with the development of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma and other histological subtypes) in the United States.
The purpose of this NOFO is to support research to elucidate how HIV-induced immunometabolic alterations, in a host suppressed on combination antiretroviral therapy (cART-suppressed), impact the immune response and increase risk for poor outcomes due to a second, potentially long-term, infection such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) or hepatitis B virus (HBV). This NOFO aims to support research to define how HIV-driven alterations to immunometabolism affect immune cell regulation, cell-cell interactions, response to treatment, and, ultimately, tuberculosis (TB) and HBV disease progression.
The purpose of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to promote epidemiologic research investigating novel and innovative hypotheses on emerging risk factors (biological, environmental, and social) and their interplay with established risk factors (e.g., viral hepatitis) associated with the development of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma and other histological subtypes) in the United States.
The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to support research to elucidate how HIV-induced immunometabolic alterations, in a host suppressed on combination antiretroviral therapy (cART-suppressed), impact the immune response and increase risk for poor outcomes due to a second, potentially long-term, infection such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) or hepatitis B virus (HBV). This NOFO aims to support research to define how HIV-driven alterations to immunometabolism affect immune cell regulation, cell-cell interactions, response to treatment, and, ultimately, tuberculosis (TB) and HBV disease progression.
The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to support the development and testing of enhanced models of care that optimally integrate HIV, Hepatitis B and C, addiction, and primary care services. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is interested in research that addresses gaps related to the delivery of comprehensive, integrated health services to include the full continuum of HIV/AIDS services, addiction prevention and treatment services, and primary care services, with a goal of improving the coordination of care, and improving health outcomes related to HIV, Hepatitis (optional), and substance use disorder (SUD) in the US.
The purpose of this program is to provide resources to help reduce the co-occurring epidemics of HIV, Hepatitis, and mental health disorders through accessible, evidence-based, culturally appropriate mental and co-occurring disorder treatment that is integrated with HIV primary care and prevention services. SAMHSA expects that this program will help reduce the incidence of HIV and improve overall health outcomes for those at-risk individuals with a mental health disorder or co-occurring disorder (COD).
The purpose of this program is to provide substance use prevention, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, HIV, and viral hepatitis prevention and treatment services for racial and ethnic individuals vulnerable to a SUD and/or mental health condition, HIV, viral hepatitis, and other infectious disease (e.g., sexually transmitted infections). Recipients will be expected to take a syndemic approach to SUD, HIV, and viral hepatitis by providing SUD prevention and treatment to racial and ethnic individuals at risk for or living with HIV.
The purpose of this program is to support communities in reducing new human human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections and relevant co-morbidities, specifically sexually transmitted infection (STI) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) infections, improve HIV, STI, and HCV-related health outcomes, and reduce HIV, STI, and HCV-related health disparities among American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) people.
These conditions include cardiovascular disease, lung disease, HIV-related cancers,, hepatobiliary disease, metabolic perturbations, obesity, enteritis, and renal disease.
These immunogenic peptides are active, novel, and unique, offering the potential of a universal hepatitis C vaccine against all genotypes.
This notice of funding opportunity announcement will support modeling of disease dynamics and advanced data analytics to inform and improve HIV, viral hepatitis, STD, TB, and adolescent health interventions and programs. This announcement will build on the success of prior modeling efforts by continuing to enhance existing models that guide informed decision-making, provide tools and data for prioritizing public interventions and programs, and to guide the allocation of scarce program resources. The cooperative agreement will also expand the use of advanced data analytics using predictive models, machine learning and artificial intelligence, as well as allow for the development and implementation of research based on these modeling and advanced data analytic projects in alignment with NCHHSTP-related public health priorities. Scientifically valid models can help CDC to fulfill its mission of supporting federal, state, and local partners and increase the prevention effectiveness of public health interventions.
