REVA is seeking to crack the $US5.3 billion ($5.5bn) market for coronary stents by commercialising its ReZolve "bioresorbable" stent, a polymer-based tube-like device that dissolves over time as the patient heals.
They differ from the widely used metal stents that are permanently embedded in arteries to assist blood flow and prevent blockages.
