The company was co-founded by Chuanju Liu, a rheumatology researcher at New York University’s Langone Medical Center, and Jeffrey Su, chief science officer at Cytovance Biologics LLC, a contract drug manufacturer.
The single backer on the round is not named but listed are Reenie McCarthy and Isaac Cheng of Morningside Venture
They developed a synthetic version of the protein, called Atsttrin, and founded Atreaon to commercialize it as a treatment for arthritis.
