Adimab - 2010 Fierce 15
Adimab doesn't develop its own candidates, instead, it lets name developers use the technology on a few targets, see how it works, and in-license the platform - estimates the potential value of those deals in the range of $150 million to $200 million.
All have gone to the Lebanon, NH-based biotech in search of a quicker, surer way to get their hands on promising new antibody drug candidates.
At GlycoFi, that meant devising a more efficient approach to identifying protein therapeutics.
In less than eight weeks, they can turn over new antibodies to their client companies to begin work on.
In little more than a year Adimab has signed up four of the biggest names in biopharma as collaborators: Merck, Pfizer, Novartis and Roche.
Merck saw the value in that approach and bought out the company, Glycofi, in 2006 for $400 million.
Using genetically engineered yeast, he says, Adimab has created a synthetic human immune system that produces antibodies that repel disease. Read more: Adimab - 2010 Fierce 15 - FierceBiotech http://www.fiercebiotech.com/special-reports/fiercebiotechs-201
