1957-06-28 - Toni's Flower Shop Stock Sold to Chet's Greenhouse

Stock and equipment from Toni's Flower shop has been sold by Mrs. Kyle Pugh, owner, to Chet's Greenhouse effective July 1.

Mrs. Pugh, who started the flower shop and greenhouse as a hobby 10 years ago, developed the hobby into a substantial business.

Chet Johnson owner of Chet's Greenhouse, is expanding his establishment to almost double its present capacity by extensive remodeling of the greenhouse, shop, and parking area.

He is adding a 20 c 100 foot extension to the present 30 x 100 foot greenhouse. Approximately one half of the greenhouse will be air conditioned to keep the stock cooler in the summer and produce bigger and better blooms. The other half he plans to use for tropical plants.

Johnson said the present shop space would be increased by 72 square feet by moving a built-in refrigerator to the back of the shop.

The parking are has been increased and black topped this year and plans are to clear and blacktop the lot across the street from the greenhouse for additional parking space.
