Korean Hydrogen Roadmap 2019

On 17th January 2019 South Korean President Moon Jae-in outlined a vision for developing a

hydrogen-based economy. The core elements of the plan include:

 increasing production and adoption of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles;

 increasing production and adoption of fuel cells for power generation, and for use as

combined heat and power plants for residential use; and

 building a hydrogen production and distribution system.

The strategy involves providing incentives and subsidies to increase volume and achieve

economies of scale on both the supply and demand sides in order to lower production costs,

accelerate the self-proliferation of hydrogen technologies, and increase exports.
