This site has been created using The Brain TheBrain: The Ultimate Digital Memory. Information about navigating the user interface can be found at: TheBrain Tutorials. To summarize, a brain is made up of thoughts. Thoughts can have one or more parent and children thoughts. Parent thoughts are linked from above. Children thoughts are linked from below. Thoughts can also have sibling (or related) thoughts that are side links. Thoughts can be typed and can have tags. Many of the thoughts include links to the official Egeria documentation.
The Core Content Pack contains a wide variety of definitions. Detailed explanations can be found on the Egeria Project web site https://egeria-project.org.
Out of the box, Egeria supports and integrates with a number of technologies. They can be viewed by clicking on the Technologies pin on the header bar. Each technology is supported by one or more resources. The different resource types that we document are:
- ConnectorType - Connectors are how we communicate with external tools and also the actions that we can take within the system. Connectors
- GovernanceActionProcess - pre-defined sequences of engine actions - Governance Action Processes
- GovernanceActionType - A template to simplify invocation of governance actions Governance Actions
- IntegrationConnector - supports the exchange of metadata with external systems - Integration Connectors
- ValidValuesSet - used to establish reference values for key properties - including key properties for Egeria’s services - Valid Values
The resource types defined above can be used in different ways. We document the key usages. Some of the most common usages are to catalog resources, survey resources, and provision resources. More details can be found in Resource Use.
One of the many powerful features of Egeria is its ability to automate (or partially automate) the creation of new asset definitions through the use of templates. Templates have numerous uses, but perhaps the most common is - Templated Cataloging. The Core Content Pack includes many pre-defined templates to simplify creating assets for different kinds of files, servers and other digital resources. You can find the template definitions and details by clicking the Templates pin.
Navigation can begin in one of three ways:
- Use the search bar to type in a type or phrase you wish to explore.
- Click on one of the “Pins” to jump to a pinned topic such as OpenMetadataRoot or Types
- Follow the links from the “Start Here - README” thought.
This site contains a lot of detail. In the sections above, I only touched on areas of more general interest - please feel free to reach out with questions and comments. We will continue to update this site as we learn more about the communities interests. All feedback is welcome!
