Concept:

The digital file has the advantage that it takes little space - none really, is searchable, can be edited and re-arranged with relative ease, can be printed. duplicated and shared digitally if necessary. However, the best features are created by careful selection of data, consistent handling of data and meticulous maintenance of the data, its acquisition and its access. If these steps are not consistent the file will fall into disuse and will cease to be of any utility. So create and maintain appropriately.
