HTM introduction
From Page 01:
“In November of 1993, I was invited to speakk at a small conference on complementary and alternative medicine in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, not far from Washington D.C.
I have questions about the conference that Cohen (2003) writes about:
"In attendance were about twenty (20) medical school professors (names? Schools?),
researchers (names? Expertise? Reason for attendance?), clinicians (names? Expertise? Reason for attendance?), and representatives from several systems of healing (which ones? Sorcery? Wicca?), including: accupuncture, Ayurveda, spiritual counseling (what kind? By whom?), Christian prayer healing (details).
From page 01:
Cohen (2003) “represented Native American Medicine.” (Were there any Native Americans invited or present?/Ken Cohen is Jewish)
Small conference (how small?)
Conference organizer, Wayne Jonas, MD “a leading scientist from the National Institutes of Health, (who are they? Who are their member nations?) requested that Cohen “open the conference with a traditional Native American prayer ceremony to honor the medicine of America’s original healers.”
“The purpose of the conference was to:
review these healing systems (what systems?)
look for common factors (for instance?)
and
create guidelines for the conduct and EVALUATION OF healing research.”
Questions I have:
Who reviewed?
What common factors were found?
Who created the “GUIDELINES FOR THE CONDUCT AND EVALUATION” of healing research?
And what are they?
Who did the “EVALUATING”???
WHO, besides the National InstituteS of Health (N.I.H.), sponsored this “conference” or was it new form of “interrogation”???
What was the “underlying purpose? Of the NIH???
Was NIH interested in finding the “FLIPS”????
DID YOU KNOW THAT W.H.O. IS THE ABBREVIATION FOR “World Health Organization”????
In what way was W.H.O. involved in this conference?
Isn’t W.H.O. run by the NAZIs?
I believe that Kenneth “Bear Hawk” Cohen (2003) attended this conference based on his “belief that people of various healing and spiritual traditions must engage in respectful dialogue if they are to understand one another and create a strong foundation for health and peace.”
(respectful dialogue as in "The Socratic Method"?)
PAGE 1-2:
“Honoring the Medicine" is about far more than ‘medicine’ in the conventional sense, about preventing or treating disease.
It is about the sacred powers that, in Native American culture, are the source of life, wisdom, and healing.
They ARE medicine.
The medicine is in us and around us.
“Honoring the Medicine” is a book for healers, which means that it is for everyone, because we are all healers.
When you touch, someone with your eyes or your hands, you communicate who you are.
If you honor the medicine, you inspire honor and wisdom in others.”
