From page 92:

Walking means "walking a spiritual path through life and remaining in motion; that is, realizing that spirituality is dynamic rather than passive. The spiritual person does not meditate in a cave waiting for enlightenment. Instead, he or she values what Tibetan Buddhists call 'meditation in action' a spirituality that is fully engaged with life."

"Walking is dynamic spirituality. The spiritual person is always on the front lines," Rolling Thunder was fond of saying."

"Holy people like Crazy Horse (Lakota) or Gokhlayeh (the real name of Geronimo, Apache) were the first in battle. Today, medicine people remain in many important tribal decisions. They advise the chief, testify before the U.S. Congress, and defend their people against SOCIAL AND POLITICAL INJUSTICE."
