AF-5000
The AF-5000 Series by Advanced Flight Systems (AFS) is a line of integrated, high-resolution, touchscreen electronic flight display (EFIS) avionics systems for experimental and light-sport aircraft. These systems offer a 4:3 aspect ratio, XGA LED-backlit display that shows primary flight instruments, navigation data, and engine monitoring in a single unit with minimal sub-menus. The AF-5000 series also features synthetic vision technology, integration with autopilot systems, a carbon monoxide monitor, and supports SiriusXM Aviation weather services.
Key Features
- Integrated EFIS Display:A single, high-resolution, sunlight-readable touchscreen display that consolidates primary flight instruments, navigation sources, engine data, and other critical information.
- Synthetic Vision:Features a "highway in the sky" presentation and a 3D flight plan view with flight director cues for enhanced situational awareness.
- Autopilot Integration:The autopilot is fully integrated and can be controlled directly from the EFIS, allowing for coupled approaches and mode selection.
- Pilot Interface:Designed with a pilot-friendly interface, including dynamic reconfiguring buttons and knobs, three knobs, and a joystick for control.
- Engine Monitoring:Includes software for monitoring various engine parameters like temperatures, pressures, and fuel.
- Carbon Monoxide Monitor:The system incorporates software that detects heart rate, oxygen levels, and carbon monoxide in the cabin.
- Connectivity:Features multiple data ports, including RS-232, USB, and Ethernet, for system expansion and data updates.
- ADS-B/Traffic Integration:Compatible with transponders for ADS-B compliance and displays traffic information.
- SiriusXM Integration:Supports SiriusXM Aviation weather services through a dedicated receiver.
Functionality & Operation
- Data Updates:Software and data updates, including chart data from
, are managed via USB sticks. - Redundant Displays:Systems can be configured with multiple displays, with an option to add a secondary ADAHRS for instrument redundancy.
- Modular Design:The system can include various components that share data and power, with both panel-mounted and remote-mounted options available for some units.
The AF-5000 series is part of a larger Advanced Flight Systems ecosystem, which also includes integrated panel solutions called ADVANCEDPANELs, designed to simplify the installatsion process by providing pre-engineered, pre-wired, and pre-tested instrument panel
