Parent Training
It would be unreasonable and unrealistic to expect parents or responsible adults to identify and cope well with a gifted person, young or more mature.
Some do, however even they appreciate support and understanding.
We have the potential to open doors but we should do so carefully, sensitively and only once we are competent to do so.
I say this because emotions, like water, held back and under ever increasing preasure, will start to flow. The flow can be unstoppable and without the right situation and tools to hand we can be responsible for a worsening of a situation.
The last statement should not stop us, rather it reinforces our need for training and support from professionals.
