<p><strong>Organization:</strong> Baltimore Metropolitan Council</p>
<p><strong>Role:</strong> I serve as Director of External Relations and General Counsel to the Baltimore region's council of governments. Our organization brings together the seven counties in our region to coordinate strategies that advance our economy through transportation, housing, workforce development, reservoir protection, cooperative purchasing, renewable energy, and emergency preparedness. I manage a team responsible for public affairs, including engagement with government and private stakeholders, traditional media, social media (and website), and the general public. I also oversee agency legal affairs.</p>
<p><strong>Community Contribution:</strong> I serve on the Board of Directors for our community civic association in Arnold. From 2016 to 2017 I was honored to serve as a member of the Maryland Adult High School Taskforce, a legislatively-created body responsible for developing recommendations for the creation of "high schools" that provide training and credentials to adults without a diploma. I have also served on the Board of the Baltimore Area Council for the Boy Scouts, assisting with programs aimed at career exploration for young adults.</p>
<p><strong>Family:</strong> My wife, Erin, and I were married in Oct. of 2015 and we are expecting our first child – a girl – in Apr. of 2018.</p>
<p><strong>Hobbies & Interests:</strong> I enjoy fishing, live music, home improvement, cooking for friends and family, discovering great local beer and wine, travel, and politics (though, not all at the same time).</p>
