<p><strong>Organization:</strong> KIPP Baltimore, Inc.</p>
<p><strong>Role:</strong> I am the Executive Director of the organization. KIPP Baltimore is an operator of the KIPP Harmony elementary school, the KIPP Ujima middle school, and our KIPP Through College program, all of which are located in the Park Heights community in Northwest Baltimore.</p>
<p><strong>Community Contribution:</strong> In addition to the work that I do with KIPP, I serve on the Board of Trustees of the Baltimore Community Foundation, currently as Secretary and member of the Education committee. I am also a former Chair of the Education Committee. I also serve on the National Council of Arts and Sciences for The George Washington University.</p>
<p><strong>Family:</strong> I am the proud mom of 2 adopted sons, who are 9 and 5 years old. My parents are originally from West Tennessee and my father was career Air Force, so we lived in many places before my family moved to Ft. Meade, where I completed high school.</p>
<p><strong>Hobbies & Interests:</strong> I am an avid reader, and generally enjoy a well-written novel. I also enjoy cycling, hiking, skiing, and baking.</p>
<p><strong>Birth Location:</strong> I was born in Illinois, where my father was stationed at the time.</p>
