Aaron Zelinsky

<p>Aaron Zelinsky joined the Mueller team on detail from the US attorney’s office in Maryland. Zelinsky served as an assistant US attorney under <a class="thought-link" href="brain://NCNoj5vuZkiFWgp4G0-PWQ/RodJRosenstein">Rod J. Rosenstein</a>, who is now the deputy attorney general and oversees Mueller’s appointment.</p>

<p>As part of his role as a prosecutor in Maryland, Zelinsky was involved in prosecuting cases of <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-md/pr/defendants-arrested-guns-baltimore-city-face-federal-charges-14-separate-cases" target="blank">felon gun ownership</a>, <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-md/pr/owner-and-two-employees-medical-equipment-provider-indicted-health-care-fraud-conspiracy" target="blank">health care fraud conspiracy</a>, and <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-md/pr/14-retailers-facing-federal-indictment-16-million-food-stamp-fraud" target="_blank">food stamp fraud and wire fraud</a>.</p>

<p>In 2016, Zelinsky was <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-md/pr/us-attorney-s-office-announces-award-recipients-4" target="_blank">recognized</a> by the Justice Department for excellence in prosecuting organized criminal activity.</p>
