🧭 New to Your Climate Toolbox?
Welcome. This page gets you oriented in about ten minutes: where to begin on climate change itself, how to find the parts of the Toolbox meant for you, and how to get around without getting lost.
You don't need to read everything. The Toolbox works more like a well-stocked workshop than a textbook. Pick up what you need, when you need it.
Only have five minutes? Start with Understanding Climate Change in 5 Minutes 10/5/2026.
Rather listen than read? Our Daily Climate Brief brings you the daily news in a bite-sized podcast, and Climate Roulette podcasts cover a lot of ground, from the latest news to in-depth explorations of timely topics and resources (including books and reports).
🧭 Finding Your Way Around
- Follow the highlighted links in the text. Everything is only a few clicks from everything else.
- Use the pin icon and menu at the top of your screen to instantly jump between main sections of Your Climate Toolbox, or the home icon to come back here.
- Keep your place on a page by opening links in a new tab rather than replacing the page you're already on (right-click, or press and hold on a phone).
- Retrace your steps: clicking the Search box at the top of your screen shows the thoughts you've recently visited, allowing you to easily return to any of them.
- Every thought in Your Climate Toolbox has its own web address, so you can bookmark or share any page.
- Prefer a visual map? The "eye" icon at the top right of your screen switches between TheBrain's Plex (visual) view, and the default (website) view.

🤝 Who's Behind the Toolbox, and Why It's Free
The Climatographers have worked on climate change since 1988. We built the first climate risk consultancy in the United States, wrote the first business climate risk textbook for the London School of Economics, and have spent 20 years building tools to help get the right climate information to the right people at the right time. Our Climate Web represents more than 35,000 hours of knowledge curation! We use AI tools to leverage all of this content, particularly in Your Climate Toolbox, albeit always under close human supervision.
We offer the Toolbox free as part of our knowledge-management work, because good climate information should reach anyone who can put it to use.
Organizations that want help deploying our 35+ years of advisory experience, and our knowledge management resources aimed at assessing and managing climate risks, should contact us at info@climatographer.com, or learn more at climatographer.com.
Ideas for the Toolbox, or resources we should add? Let us know at info@climatographer.com
and the big picture when it comes to climate change.
4️⃣ Then Explore
Once you're oriented, browse the tools by what you want to do:
- Understand: Climate Academy, Climate Chess Guide
- Track: Tracking Climate Change. A good first stop is Real-Time Climate Monitoring, a quick scan of key climate indicators.
- Read & Listen: Climate Libraries, Climate Roulette, and the Podcasts, Substacks and LinkedIn collections
Find Resources: Climate Resources
And when you want to go further than the Toolbox can take you, the Climate Web is the Climatographers' full knowledge platform: 150,000+ sources on the same platform you're using now.
Everything in the Toolbox is free. If something's missing, unclear or broken, let us know. The Toolbox gets better with your help.
