BPPF Rodent Trap Contract
June 2022 Update:
And still we make more.

Oct/Nov 2021:
We are proud to announce that the AMST has been awarded a contract to build some 600 (YES 600) rodent traps for the Predator Free Banks Peninsula Trust rodent eradication programme.
Well the 600 is spread over the next 3 years - but that’s a lot of traps.
We have now (June 22) made the first 400 traps for distribution.
Fortunately the timber had arrived partly pre-sawn to length, but we still needed to do finishing cuts like grooves for the insert meshes, then assemble the parts to make the whole trap and finally fixing on the sliding access lid.
It’s a lot of work, but worth it, as a good community service and part fund raiser.
Based on a previously used design the AMST got approval to improve the assemble time by using groove slide in slots for both of the end meshes. No hard to fix small staples required.
See below the finished trap with swing away lid for access to the victim. Note the double mesh entry system with offset holes, designed to confuse the rodent when he might try to get out. The actual deadly sprung trap goes in the far end compartment.
