CHALLENGING DENIAL

Climate denial in a variety of forms remains a significant problem for tackling climate change. For purposes of Your Mobile Global Warming Brain we’ve chosen to take advantage of the comprehensive coverage offered by the Skeptical Science website. Skeptical Science is a wonderful resource for exploring the arguments most commonly used to raise doubt about climate change and the need to address it. There are more than 200 such arguments, and all of them are individually accessible through the organizing thoughts at left. One of the great things about Skeptical Science is that for each argument, you often have a choice between “Basic,” “Intermediate,” and “Advanced” counter-arguments. It’s an incredible resource.

You can see in the Plex at left that the arguments are split into six categories.

• It's Not Happening
• We Shouldn’t Trust the IPCC
• It's Not Us
• It's Not Bad
• Fossil Fuels Aren’t the Problem
• It's Too Hard to Fix

You can click through those headings to the individual arguments, open them, and instantly jump back to Your Mobile Global Warming Brain. If you’re access the links on your desktop, you don’t have to leave the Mobile Brain at all; the URLs will open right here on your screen.

There are all kinds of resources and tools available for challenging climate denial beyond Skeptical Science. If you have specific suggestions for resources you think we should add to Your Mobile Global Warming Brain please contact us at info@climatographer.com
