Assembling Your Own Customized Climate Video Courses

The Climate Web organizes thousands of videos relevant to climate change topics, and hence to climate change education. There is a landing page in the Climate Web specifically organized around this collection of videos, and it includes links to relevant YouTube Channels as well as collections of YouTube and Vimeo topical videos.

While there are thousands of climate-relevant videos organized in the Climate Web, only a fraction of them are specifically suitable for incorporating into climate courses or curricula. Generally speaking, for example, individual videos will be less than 15 minutes in length, and preferably less than 10 minutes in length. There are two ways to group potentially appropriate videos. The first is to collect videos specifcally created for incorporation into climate classes, in this case mostly MOOCs. We have collected some 500 MOOC video segments here in the Climate Web, organized topically. In each case you can trace the video back to its original MOOC. We are also going through the other 2,000 climate-relevant videos in the Climate Web to select out videos that seem particularly suitable for educational purposes in terms of content, quality, and length, and will be organizing them here in the Climate Web.
