resenting DID

Hi all,

I am really struggling with this whole DID thing. Many posts on here talk about their different states as though they are real people.

I was going to say that I put every effort into remembering they are all parts of a whole and that they are all me, but in reality, when I am in the real world I prefer to deny the diagnosis and never let any different states out. I don't have to put any effort into remembering they are all me.

Only in therapy do I do all the things others here do like let the little ones play and all the mad, bad, sad ones join in. They don't feel like me, I don't remember very well what they say and if I do it is as though I am at a noisy party and am overhearing bits of conversation that I get the gist of but am not really engaged with.

Is there anyone else out there who knows they are all part of a whole person and wants to get rid of the DID? I was doing some reading and there was a quote that said some thing like it isn't that people with DID have multiple personalities, it is that they don't have one whole one. i passionately believe that is true and as a result I just feel broken. I want to become one whole person, with one whole personality.

Does anyone else feel like this?
