TRIGGER WARNING: DEATH AND SELF HARM MENTIONED</p>

So, I have a question: what different kinds of alters can you have in terms of role and personality? Something that provoked me to ask about that is all the recent threads about or from alters wanting to self harm or kill the host.</p>
<p>
Something else that provoked it was when I was coming back home with my family from the movies, my dad and I stopped to get food and when we came back to the car, my brother had changed the channel. I changed it back and my mom and brother started to complain so I changed it to what my brother wanted to listen to.</p>
<p>
Immediately, I heard a voice that I hadn't heard in a long time complaining that the station was changed. When I explained to him that my brother and mom were the reason for the station change, the voice started to order me to kill them. Of course I didn't listen but can you have alters that never want to harm the host but are willing to hurt others?</p>
