It is with mixed feelings that I tell all of you that I will not be completing my Ph.D. I am disabled for a reason, and my disability is keeping me from completing my Dissertation. I cannot concentrate or write collegiate level work any longer. My mind just does not process things the same way it used to when I was healthy. So, I passed Comprehensive Exams but could not complete the Dissertation. I have used up all of my “extra time” and cannot ask for anymore; nor would I want to. There is just no way for me to finish; I’m not able. I hope none of you will think less of me. Mental Illness is really disabling for some of us, like me. It’s time for me to find a new passion. School no longer fits the bill.</p>
