Issue Summary
- PDF documents: Web and local links can both be added, but only the web links work
- HTML documents: Both local and web links work.
See forum discussion link above (dated 09.09.21) along with feedback from Support below for details.
Status
- 11.28.20: Bug reported forum
- 09.07.21: Ran into strange results during testing today. Reported in forum and offered to create a new help desk ticket if anyone else could replicate
- When I clicked on a local link within an attached PDF using the embedded browser, the local link worked.
- When I clicked on a local link within a free-standing PDF, TB12 said the link is already attached and then added the link into the Brain Box.
- 09.09.21: Received no replies to my initial forum Q > Moved it into a new discussion thread in the hope of giving it better visibility
- 09.13.21: Feedback from Support: Unfortunately this isn't something that we have any control over.
- The link being generated and inserted into the PDF when using Create Document is correct and valid, but there is an issue with how Foxit is handling the interaction between the PDF and Brave when attempting to open it in the browser.
- As a quick test, you can copy/paste the Local Thought URL from the PDF into Brave's URL bar and press Enter to see that it works, but not when directly clicking the link in the PDF since this relies on how Foxit handles interactions with the browser.
