Attachments inside or linked?

Traditionally I have done Linked Attachments. The attachments are typically PDFs or Markdowns that I write. Since most of my writing in on my laptop, I can edit in the Brain. They sync with Obsidian.

Benefit:

The benefit of this is I can use other programs to access - Obsidian or other markdown editors. In practice, I don't do this much.

Draw Backs:

Using iPad or web, the attachment is not available for viewing or editing

Any other pro's and con's of the attachment option? I am not sure how much storage I get or have used in TB for syncing.
