FLASH PERFORMANCE / NINETY SECONDS
FLASH PERFORMANCE / NINETY SECONDS
The ninety-second structure appears repeatedly.
It reduces the time available for:
- perfectionism;
- conceptual explanation;
- excessive preparation;
- self-censorship.
It asks the performer to choose:
- one fragment;
- one image;
- one relation;
- one action;
- one immediate compositional decision.
The short duration does not mean the material is insignificant.
It creates a temporary container for provisional work.
