FORCE ↔ SACRIFICE ↔ CARE
FORCE ↔ SACRIFICE ↔ CARE
This is not simply rejection of sacrificial art. Early CPPM investigates cruelty as bodily know-how; trauma may become portal rather than wound. Later Clarisse asks whether she is done sacrificing herself to create, without erasing earlier positions.
“Cruelty as skill” may have been a sophisticated continuation of the same sacrificial economy. Abramović, Mishima and Angélica Liddell still contribute respect for radical artistic freedom and a body willing to risk itself completely.
Questions remain open: which intensities require damage; which do not; when pain is material, method, evidence of seriousness, currency or myth? This later contributes to non-sacrificial intensity but is not a completed solution.
