DECONSTRUCTION
Performance is separated into six materials.
One material becomes the principal lens.
This reveals information concealed by habitual integration.
REIFICATION
An abstract material or concept becomes physically researchable.
Examples from the workshop include:
- Space becoming distance or architecture;
- Time becoming acceleration or duration;
- Shape becoming a bodily line;
- Glacier becoming density and gravity;
- Impossible Love becoming specific actions and images.
RECONSTRUCTION
After study, the materials can coexist again.
The artist returns to complete performance with:
- greater awareness;
- clearer vocabulary;
- more precise choice;
- expanded capacity.
WORKSHOP FORMULA
ISOLATE
→ INVESTIGATE
→ EMBODY
→ REINTEGRATE.
Do not present this as a mechanical recipe for making a finished work.
