BEING MOVED BY SOUND

BEING MOVED BY SOUND

The workshop distinguishes MOVING TO SOUND from BEING MOVED BY SOUND.

Being moved by sound requires listening before acting, allowing vibration to enter attention, delaying compositional intention, noticing bodily response, accepting subtle or minimal movement and avoiding the demand to demonstrate dance vocabulary.

The performer does not disappear into passivity; they remain active through listening and selection.
