INGEBORG BACHMANN
THE WAR CONTINUES INSIDE THE SUBJECT
Bachmann makes the continuation of historical violence after 1945 central. Nazism → war → official end of war → return to normality → repressed historical violence. In Malina and the Todesarten project, violence persists in language, psyche, gender, and intimate relations.
The war does not end when the war ends.
Public history becomes private psyche; historical violence becomes intimate violence; fascist structures persist in everyday relations of power.
War → language → memory → gender → psychic fracture.
Bachmann → the war continues inside the subject.
Retrospective connections lead toward Ferenczi, embodied trauma, feminist theory, postwar memory, and violence within intimate structures. These are not all direct influences.
Removal audit: without Bachmann, the Brain loses its clearest account of postwar continuity: historical violence moving into intimate language and psychic life.
