410-1066 Anglo-Saxon England
410-927 Anglo-Saxon England consisted of various Anglo-Saxon kingdoms until 927 when it was united as the Kingdom of England by King AEthelstan (r. 927â939).
Pope Gregory I is famous for instigating the first recorded large-scale mission from Rome, the Gregorian Mission, to convert the then-pagan Anglo-Saxons in England to Christianity.
