2018 In February 2018, several employees of Cargill's Dayton, Virginia plant held protests. Their grievances included poor health benefits, bad working conditions, and Cargill's allegedly firing employees who organized to create a union.[81] The protests led to nine people's arrest for trespassing on company property.[82]
Detective agencies were used to enforce work for major corporations, the Pinkerton watched all types of organized labor, the Burns Detective Agency watched miners and Thiel Detective Service Company watched railroad workers.
Private detectives and investigators
The Thiel Agency was also involved in infiltrating and breaking a number of labor union strikes in the United States and Canada, much as the Pinkerton agency was.
These detective agencies had connections to the DOJ, the BOI and the FBI. The Burns Detective Agency was founded by a director of the Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
