1971 Craig sublet his apartment in New Haven to Rodham and Clinton for $75 a month.
1997 Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright appointed Craig to the post of director of policy planning at the State Department in 1997.
2000 Craig claimed in an interview with PBS Frontline in July 2000 that Podesta was the one who recruited him and that Podesta told him that the White House needed a "coordinator quarterback."
2003 Craig met Barack and Michelle Obama for the first time in 2003, at the home of Vernon Jordan, a close friend of the Clintons, and the then-Illinois state senator impressed Craig.

2018 NBC and CNN reported that following a referral from Mueller's office, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York was investigating Craig and others, ...
2019 Craig's lawyers correctly anticipated he would be indicted for concealing and falsifying material facts related to the 2017 Mueller special prosecution into FARA violations, he was indicted on April 11, 2019.
