Five presidents who served during the 1950s — Lee Dice, Curt Stern, Franz Kallmann, Madge Macklin and Laurence Snyder — supported forced sterilization of people deemed genetically unfit, including those with physical and intellectual disabilities, heritable diseases and mental illness.
