SAFE SPACE

The idea of a safe space is was originally to prevent actual injury like not letting someone who is prone to racial slurs into an ethnic event

But the idea of a safe ideological space in terms of never being exposed to critical thinking…

And here I could put in it it's the only belief you considered that it's not really a belief

… never being exposed to critical thinking isn't talking so much about the PEOPLE being safe as the IDEAS being safe from challenge or criticism.

Which of course is applied collectively that anything that hurts the idea hurts this whole group of people

so safety then becomes a matter of not being exposed to certain ideas because the ideas are “offensive” (rather than ‘challenging’). An attack on a person's idea then becomes an attack on the person.

Necessarily the judgment has to be based on a person's character. Because how do you know who to let in the space and who not? You anticipate the likelihood of an offensive statement based on the person's character

That was a judgment of my character instead of simply my ideas which were never discussed
