Complementarity Principle

Perhaps in the realm of religion there will be cases of the uncertainty principle, which is such a characteristic phenomenon of physics. If it is fundamentally impossible to determine accurately both the position and velocity of a particle, it should not surprise us if similar limitations occur in other aspects of our experience. This opposition in the precise determination of two quantities is also referred to as complementarity; position and velocity represent complementary aspects of a particle, only one of which can be measured precisely at any one time.
