G.I. JOE
Viper (RAH) is a fictional character and elite infantry unit within the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero (RAH) universe, serving under the terrorist organization Cobra. Vipers are highly trained soldiers equipped with advanced gear, including armored helmets and vests that mask heat signatures, and assault rifles with built-in grenade-launchers. They are considered the "grunts" of Cobra’s Legions—often deployed on dangerous missions and regarded as the backbone of Cobra’s military forces.
Cobra, on the other hand, is the overarching antagonistic organization in the G.I. Joe franchise. It is a global terrorist group that opposes the G.I. Joe Team, seeking world domination through military force, espionage, and advanced technology. Cobra includes various units such as Troopers, Officers, and specialized roles like Vipers, with the Viper being one of the most prominent combat-focused infantry divisions.
In summary:
- Viper refers to a specific elite Cobra soldier unit in the A Real American Hero toyline and animated series.
- Cobra is the larger fictional terrorist organization that employs Vipers and other troops.
