Nick Bostrom The Simulation Argument Ford Interview 2013

Mulhauser video... only 10k)

bottom line: it stupidly leaves out poss 2.5... NO ETC can pull it off!!!

they're interested... they just can't do it!!! why not that?

Nick Bostrom...

1) all ETCs go extinct before reaching tech maturity.

2) they all lose interest in creating DETAILED ancestor simulations

(so detailed that the people in them would be conscious)

3) we are almost certainly living in a simulation.

argument is that ONE of these three is true.

say 1 is not true for ALL ETCs and

2 is not true for all those that survive... and therefore

those trying... could run astronomical numbers of these...

Therefore, there should be MANY MORE SIMULATED people like us

than NON-SIMULATED PEOPLE like us...

so, since there are many more SIM PEOPLE then we shoud think that

we are SIM people (since there many more of them!)

Also a recursive possibility... we are in a sim and WE develop a sim!

minute 10 Ancestor simulations...

talks v inadequately about consciousness and the tech capability...

a number of follow up papers on this...

the hypothesis.. "we are living in a simulation"

the sim argument... he does believe that...

how about the fact that they CANT DO IT... he never address that!

color... HD; Adam is never in it...

Glitches in the sim...

one guy sees pixels in the BR mirror!

he switches camera angles every few minutes (uses two cameras)...
