Adobe Acrobat Reader is UGLY Bloatware... again!!!!  See my comments from
Dec 2008 when I had the same problems... it is ugly bloatware... massive program
full of incompatibilites.  1)  Never use.  2)  Only use  Adobe Acrobat  (I do have the full version
in my CSS3  disk)  only if  you really really need to CREATE PDF files.. I do NOT need to do that
today... poss in the future.

Read the CNET Foxit  article below when installing it.  (<b>Basically, do NOT install any extras</b>.)

MOTIVATION for this:

1)  When I installed  CSS3  components, I also installed Acrobat
My thot was that it might be nice to be able to CREATE PDFs (in addition to reading them).
Also, it easily installed  (takes an extra  GIGABYTE!!!)

2)  I also installed ADOBE READER 10  to read  pdfs.

However,  I could not read any PDFs from the internet...
cud not read my CV on bobblum.com;
could not read PDFs on reearch websites...

I wud get an error message:  Problem with  Adobe Acrobat/Reader  error message (1:1).
Nothing I did wud fix this.  The internet has dozens of similar reports.

First I turned off reading in Ad Reader 10... did not work
Next, I uninstalled Adobe Reader 10... did not work
(so that it should have been reading with Acrobat installed with CSS3)
Next I uninstalled  ACROBAT  (then there is NO  pdf reader at all).
(I did also try repairing Reader and Acrobat in Windows Uninstaller...
just bone head suggestions... nothing useful.  POS.

Next I install Foxit... and it works!!!!  Yes.

Today I completely dumped Adobe and substituted Foxit's Reader 3.0  (I did NOT download the toolbar
and do not have the text conversion  (pdf to text) which is free but you need to download the toolbar to get it.
(Actually, it would be easy to dump the toolbar.... I think you just use the Add/Remove Program Uninstaller and
got to Foxit Toolbar.

Foxit Reader has rave reviews on C-NET.

Adobe Reader... I MAY need it but meanwhile it is total BLOATWARE  (the zipfile download is 33mb
and I believe it expands to  much more.  On the other hand... it is fast to uninstall and download.
Also Adobe Reader does open rapidly on E8600.
