Here's why I looked this up.
Here's a VERY IMPORTANT selection mechanism that
occured to me as being somewhat akin to INHERITANCE OF ACQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS
AND INTELLIGENT DESIGN ...

        	See my DARWIN JOKES below:

        	ACQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
1) I mate with a woman who has

        acquired a CONDO

        .
2) We have a child
3) That child inherits the CONDO.

        Boom...INHERITANCE OF ACQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS

This was discussed at length by Darwin and many others and is, in fact, an accepted part
        of
Darwinian evolution. Read this Wiki article... it is exclt.

        INTELLIGENT DESIGN...

        	Similarly,

        1) I mate with a woman who is in industrial design. I mate with her because
she produces very intelligent designs

        .

        2) We two children,

one who is great at intelligent designing

the other of which is stupid and obnoxious.

        3) Since we have limited resources, we give most of our resources two the smarter and
        nicer of the two.
Our child - the brilliant intelligent designer

        - has a selective advantage and is more likely to pass on her genes.
