TP = TELEPRESENCE =

allow a person to feel as if they were present, to give the appearance that they were present, or to have an effect, via telerobotics, at a place other than their true location.

Note: This is the KEY TRICK that CONSC uses.

1) Where are you actually; what is your true location?

A: Real answer is nowhere: YOU don't exist or perhaps you are what emerges from the working

of your brain.

BUT via telepresence, you seem to be located in this meat robot that is Bob Blum's body

rather than as some process inside Bob's skull.

Telepresence has been described as the human experience of being fully present at a live real-world location remote from one's own physical location.

A minimum system usually includes visual feedback. Ideally, the entire field of view of the user is filled with a view of the remote location, and the viewpoint corresponds to the movement and orientation of the user's head.

most of this article is about teleconferencing, which is practically important but

irrelevant to epistemology and consciousness.

see DEGREE of IMPLEMENTATION: IMMERSIVE vs adaptive or lite

note: even this discussion of immersive is still onlly about teleconferencing ...

sorry that is NOT immersive... immersive to me means TRANSPARENT ie INVISIBLE as in Metzinger...

the only world you know.

Transparency of implementation:

These cues include life–size participants, fluid motion, accurate flesh tones and the appearance of true eye contact
