Why I Stopped Idolizing Sam Harris

Come on, Kevin (T1J),

Progressives are already hopelessly splintered. ("You there: you're too white for me; you don't advocate for gays enough; you're too hard on Muslims, etc")

Yes, Sam is flawed, but he's got GUTS! Unlike you, we know his last name, where he lives, that he's got a wife and two small kids. He's constantly out in public where he's vulnerable as hell and yet he takes strong, principled positions that many progressives and centrist-rights agree with.

Have you forgotten the Danish cartoonist that was murdered for drawing silly cartoons of Mohammed?

Have you forgotten the attacks on the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris? How about 911?

Your YouTube is not a total hatchet piece, but here's what you'll get if you attack several more friendly, truth-seeking progressives...

four more years of Trump; perhaps another couple of right wing Supreme Court justices;

dismantling of environmental protections, the Wall, and, of course, crippling of affirmative action and Affordable Health Care.

Sam's not perfect but you better learn to recognize friends who can help to advance your agenda (if only by stumbling toward truth.)
