Barbara and I chat for half an hour today after Jason Yeatman FriSem.
 
home instit is  Columbia... she is out here frequently.
Her dtr just finished med school and is married to Stfd faculty...
lives on campus.
 
she has 5 grandkids;
 
was at hebrew univ with Amos Tversky.
 
Gibson:  focused on things like stair steps etc.  affordances of objects and
not on perception at alll... all people assume that...

fei fei... thinks she's a genius... loves her work.
may collab with her;
 
she describes tie in motor system in perceiving and talking abt space.
as people talk abt space they gesture, move bodies  etc.
motoric tie in with perception.
