Dear Representative Eschoo,

This note is just to express my strong wish that the federal government (and also State of Calif. government) would do more to support American electrical vehicle manufacturers in general and Tesla in particular. (Note that I don't own Tesla stock or even a Tesla car.)

It's inconceivable to me that China, Germany, or Japan would do so little to help one of their car companies. Of course, Elon Musk has his flaws, but it seems that he's single-handedly trying to wean Planet Earth off fossil fuels. I urge you to encourage Congress (and ... perhaps through your dealings with Gavin Newsome) to, say, extend tax credits for EV buyers and other methods of incentivizing the sales of American-made EVs.

Keep up the good work.

Best wishes, Bob Blum (MD, PhD; Stanford)
