Huston Smith was Prof and Chair of the Philosophy Dept at MIT from 1958 to 1973.

I had him in a Buddism course my first term freshman year at MIT.

(Recall writing my term paper December 1965 in Marilyn's apartment in Grenwich village.

Recall Huston calling me at the dorm to seek permission to use a paragraph from

my paper in his book! ... the sound of the gong merging with the sounds of the world.)
